About CAJET

The Cameroon Journal of Evangelical Theology (CAJET) is a peer-reviewed publication of the Network of Cameroon Theologians (NCT) – an interdenominational think-tank that brings Cameroon Evangelical theologians together. CAJET seeks to promote a broad-based multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary theological scholarship that provides critical, contextual, and innovative responses to issues Cameroon as well as global Christianity face.

Purpose

Given the deficiency of academic journals in the theological field that uphold international standards of scholarship and scientific publications in Cameroon, one of the missions of CAJET is to fill this gap. It equally aims at creating an academic platform that allows Cameroon theologians to publish scientific papers that both reflect their context and mirror global scholarship. This does not mean that, theologians of other nationalities cannot publish in CAJET. Because the vocation of the Journal transcends the borders of Cameroon, theologians from any part of the globe are welcome to publish in CAJET.

Target Contributors

CAJET target contributors are theologians of various fields. Given its multi/interdisciplinary theological nature, CAJET welcomes and publishes papers that cut across diverse disciplines of theology. These include (but are not limited to) systematic theology, missiology (with its diverse ramifications), biblical theology, biblical studies, practical theology, historical theology, political theology, contextual theology, and others. To this end, CAJET has established a wide international network of reviewers from various theological backgrounds to review papers that fall within their fields of competence.

Target Audience

CAJET’s target audience are theologians, Bible students, pastors, missionaries, and the entire body of Christ. Scholars of other fields that are interested theological scholarship are also the target of CAJET’s publications.

Editorial Philosophy

CAJET underlying editorial philosophy is anchored in an Evangelical reading of Scriptures. This means that the Journal emphasizes the inspiration of Scriptures; views Scriptures as the final authority in matters of Christian doctrine and life; upholds a Christ-centered vision of Christianity; seeks to promote the cause of Christ’s kingdom on earth in every respect; works relentlessly towards the fulfilment of missio Dei on earth; and pursues the strengthening of the Christians’ walk with Christ through disciplemaking.

Note: “Evangelical” as used here is not a reference to Christian denominations that include the term evangelical in their names. Rather it is a broad-based term that encompasses the variegated Christian traditions that identify themselves as Evangelicals.
